Given by Lists

Lists. We all have them. Grocery lists, to-do lists, Christmas shopping lists, oh my!

Notice a pattern? These lists always focus on what we don’t have, what isn’t done, and what we need to get, do, or bring.

What if we instead focused on what we do have, what is done, and what we find joy in having exactly what we need?

Yes, a list that isn’t there to remind you of what you need to accomplish but to simply remind of you the blessings in your life: a gratitude list.

  • Are you grateful for the chocolate glazed donut you devoured yesterday morning? Write it down.
  • Are you grateful for the warm bed you slept in last night? Write that down.
  • Are you grateful for the people and places you love? Write that down.

We can be grateful for the big and small, the exciting and the mundane. It is all too easy to take for granted some of the most seemingly trivial experiences in our day, when in reality, they hold so much joy.

Getting into the practice of gratitude can remedy even the most anxious of minds. Gratitude begets joy, and joy reciprocates gratitude.
