hope

Given by Peace

These past few days have been dedicated to reflecting on ways we can encourage others to share hope during the holiday season.

But like love, hope must first exist within ourselves in order to give it.

How can we share peace, hope, and love, if we ourselves do not allow it into our own hearts?

One way we often lose hope is in our fear of death. We spend our lives finding ways to run from it. We find ourselves fearing death and viewing it as an end – as our end.

But, what we often forget is that in many religious traditions, death is simply new life. It is a moment to celebrate life, and embark on our eternal life.

In running from death, we lose hope. To maintain hope, we must find peace – peace within ourselves, peace with our futures, and peace with our eventual passing.

Write your own obituary. Is it uncomfortable? Yes. But, it is a wonderful opportunity to come to terms with the celebration of our life and make peace with the passing of ourselves and our loved ones.
