Yes, you read that right. It might seem like an unlikely truth, but it’s a truth nonetheless. Tears are a gift that remind us of our humanity, and a reminder that we are not only called to joy and happiness in this life, but struggle and suffering as well.
To face hardship and trial is a gift of transformation that challenges us…sometimes to the depth of our being.
How can this be a gift you ask? If you allow it, each hardship can alter your appreciation and love for what you have been given. It is able to shape your mind and soul with a lens of empathy for those who have and will experience similar trials and challenges. When you allow yourself to be transformed in these moments and hold onto joy after hardship, you often become a beacon of Hope for others who may be experiencing suffering.
