A longtime resident of Orange County, Courtney was born and raised in West Garden Grove where she attended Pacifica High School. She thoroughly enjoyed her years there, not only for the beautiful landscape but the emphasis on community and family. She now resides in the South Bay and considers living near the ocean a privilege.
Courtney continued her education earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management from California State University Long Beach.
The first quarter of Courtney’s career began with the Ritz Carlton of Laguna Niguel as a Special Events Manager. The experience proved to be an extension of her education and taught her how to manage anxiety in high pressure situations. Today she is more aware of how to keep composure and to treat your customer with the same expectation you would have for yourself.
Courtney was looking for a new venture, one that still focused on assisting others, when the opportunity at Green Hills Memorial Park was presented. Some might assume a position of Family Service Advisor might be difficult or unpleasant. She admits her job can be challenging at times and requires a special person to do it, but it certainly is rewarding. She understands that every day is a blessing. She recognizes when a family has lost a loved one that she is welcomed in and allowed to help them through an emotional time. She is honored to be their trusted Advisor and treasures the forever bond created with each family.
As a teenager, Courtney had the unexpected experience of losing her loving Father. She became intimately familiar with stress and sadness of losing a loved one, or as she refers to him as her hero. With the forethought of her father advance planning his own cemetery arrangements long before his passing, he removed the doubt and uncertainty for her family from having to make these decisions on their own. She’s grateful of her father’s planning and considers it both a blessing and gift. This reaffirms her conviction about how advance planning provides peace of mind.
Whenever time permits, Courtney will hit the trails for a good hike, most especially in Runyon Canyon. It’s not just about the physical activity for her and much more about sharing a stroll with family or friends all the while enjoying nature and time to connect. Sunshine and time being outdoors is optimized when possible.
Some of Courtney’s best memories have occurred at her family’s vacation home where the motto is the more the merrier. The door is open to anyone wanting to enjoy good times, games and lots of laughter.
Come winter Courtney loves to travel to Mammoth or Deer Valley and take to the slopes.
